Having spent 21 of the last 22 years immersed in the landscapes and communities of the Helford River Estuary, Manaccan, Godolphin, Carleen, Helston, Gweek, and St. Ives, among many other Cornish locations, I felt it was time to begin documenting the extraordinary international artist community that calls Cornwall home.
The region is rich with talent: from BAFTA-winning film directors to painters, conceptual artists, illustrators, educators, and mentors. And that’s just scratching the surface of the vibrant, hardworking creatives who live and work here.
This marks the beginning of a long-term portraiture project that aims to capture the breadth and depth of Cornwall’s artistic community; both emerging and established.
A heartfelt thank you to all the artists who have already sat for the first two portrait sessions. Your warmth, humour, and generosity have been truly inspiring.
I plan to return in the autumn of 2025 for the third round of photography.
